Vic: Man shot at Wangaratta in state's north-east
A Wangaratta man remains in a serious condition in hospital after being shot overnightin the front yard of his home, in Victoria's north-east.
Police were called to the house about 10pm (AEST) where they found the 48-year-oldman slumped in the front yard after being shot once in the stomach.
The man was taken by ambulance to the nearby Wangaratta Base Hospital, where he remainsin a serious, but not life threatening condition.
Police say the man claims to have been shot at close range while in his front yard.
